About Us
My name is Valentina Tyukalo, I am a founder of home-based childcare Circle of Friends.
I'm dedicated to changing the perception of home childcare by providing a challenging curriculum with developmentally appropriate activities advancing each individual child's skill level. I have created a home-based "school" where children can learn and excel working in smaller groups. With the feeling of "home" around them, I will strive to keep the children learning and prepare them for their next developmental step. I'm committed to creating a warm and nurturing schoolhouse atmosphere where parents can be involved in their child's education and feel confident in their caregiver and the environment.
I feel that every child learns differently and at his/hers own pace. As a teacher/caregiver, it is my job to provide an abundance of educational opportunities to speak curiosities at different levels and different interest points. My classroom environment is filled with many choices for exploration. I believe in exposing these young minds to many different projects so as the child can choose her/his own talent and interest for that particular moment. I write my own curriculum and use a method of steps so the youngest child can participate in the same project that the older child is doing bur to the lesser degree. I believe in structure and consistency and creating the environment that gives the child peace of mind and control to "what is coming next". Above all, small children thrive in an environment that is loving and nurturing and where they feel heard and valued! It is most important to create an environment that allows each child to feel safe and free to grow and learn!
